Treatment begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. The initial consultation gives me an opportunity to understand your current concerns, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatment, and what you hope to accomplish.
For patients with more extensive histories, additional time may occasionally be needed to complete the evaluation, review previous records, coordinate with other treating clinicians when appropriate and authorized, or obtain additional medical information.
Initial consultation (60 minutes): $625
Psychotherapy (60 minutes): $455
Psychotherapy (45 minutes): $395
Medication follow-up (20–30 minutes): $325
Additional professional services requiring significant time, such as report writing, are billed separately based on the psychotherapy fee schedule.
I am an out-of-network provider and do not participate directly with insurance plans. Payment is due at the time of service.
I provide a superbill with the information patients need to submit claims to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. The amount reimbursed varies considerably depending on your insurance plan, deductible, and benefit structure.
If reimbursement is important to you, I recommend contacting your insurer before beginning treatment to ask specifically about your out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychiatric care.
Appointments cancelled with fewer than 48 business hours' notice are charged the full session fee.
A credit card is kept on file for all services and is charged after each appointment. Personal checks and cash are also accepted.
Under the federal No Surprises Act, patients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of care.
If this applies to you, you may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling treatment. A Good Faith Estimate will also generally be provided when services are scheduled at least three business days in advance.
If you receive a bill from a provider that is $400 or more above that provider's Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
